Long live the king
What a lovely day after a long and busy week. It was good to get out in the sunshine and fresh air.
After seeing numerous shots of the kingfishers at The Spinnies Nature Reserve near Bangor, we decided to try our luck and see if they would play ball today for us. We arrived soon after 10am and took a quick walk around for a few minutes to see what was about in each of the 3 hides, but the kingfishers had not been seen for well over an hour. We then went for a walk along the Wales coastal path for a while as the tide was way out. We had a lovely walk in the sun but did not see much wildlife. After a picnic lunch of sandwiches and cherries, we went back to the sea hide. Almost immediately a kingfisher arrived and kept popping back every now and again and did some fishing - I really need to practice some more as most of them were not in focus. I think my camera(or maybe it's just me!?) has trouble in focussing quickly enough and does not take many fps as it's an entry level DSLR. Anyway, you can see a couple of my efforts in extras.
Tomorrow I have to travel to Sweden in preparation for a meeting on Monday morning which is a bit annoying, but it does mean I can have Friday off :)
