Sophie's Off To School

Kate & Sophie came over this afternoon for a trip to Clarks Village as they both needed shoes*. Sophie took a shine to this "Shimmer & Shine" ruck sack, which she thought would be just the job for when she starts school in September.

Here she is playing "going to school" which involved waving good bye as she closed the back garden gate then calling for me to come and collect her from school, which seemed to finish as soon as it started, although she managed to think of lots of exciting things that had happened each day!

We decided to make the most of the sunshine and have an impromptu BBQ, for which Chris joined us; it was a real pleasure to sit in the evening sun after all the rain lately. Sophie deigned to take her rucksack off while she was eating:)

This morning, Tess & I enjoyed the park run (I was pleased to knock 20 seconds off my PB) and a gentle swim in the outdoor pool.

* she did get some despite appearances!
