Helen Meets Some Vikings
A windy day, but calm this evening. There was some fine sunny spells this morning, but clouded over, and the occasional shower.
Up early, and ready to start the day. Friends over from Australia, but they are Scottish, and a few from south. They've planned the trip for a year, and today me and friend Julie have taken them on a mystery tour. We started with breakfast at the Cornerstone, and then headed to Burra to see the Australian animals at the Outpost. On to Minn and the cake fridge, then feeding ponies at Tingwall. We headed north to the biker rally, and then to the garden aeroplane in North Roe, looked some highland cows too. On to Heylor, the Mid Brae Inn and party buses out in plenty, and then tea at Frankie's. Swung by Michael's Wood, and the famous Twatt sign, and then said our goodbyes. They've had a blast. Mam and nieces over tonight for a visit. Sammy is much better today, feeling a bit sorry for himself, but ok.
There was a good few surprises along the way today, and I'm sure the Simmer Dim Rally was one! There was bikers galore, messy beer games, and then there was Vikings too. Helen was delighted to get to meet a few, and get a photo with them. Taken in the rally tent, next to the Ollaberry hall.
