Mural on Mass Avenue

This is Laura Smith, an artist with the Community Art Center (CAC) in Cambridge. She is working on part of an "evolving outdoor gallery and mural" on the plywood fence around a huge building under construction by Novartis (the Swiss drug company). Novartis is a funder of the CAC and a sponsor of this project.

It's on Massachusetts Avenue, some three blocks down from the MIT Museum, which I visited today to have another look at the exhibit of Bernice Abbott's photographs of scientific subject. Both the exhibition (which ends 12/31) and the museum are just marvelous--I so wish my father could have experienced them.

The Boston area narrowly missed yesterday's snowstorm which hit New England. Today it was sunny, but only barely above freezing.
