Merry-go-round

Marvellously warm day, so headed down to Caroline Bay (along with every man and his dog) and the annual Carnival that runs from Boxing Day through to 6th January.  Two FREE concerts daily, lots of rides, Ghost Trains, chocolate wheels, games, 2 huge bouncy things (Titanic and a climbing slide affair, ginormous) and food and refreshment carts galore.  

We had a ball, the kidlets loved everything (the wallet took a hammering), the concert was awesome - Sheryl Higgs and Frankie Stevens - both top NZ entertainers....and all for free.  

Our annual carnival (which has been running for 102 years) draws holiday makers from far and wide and if the weather plays the game it is a huge success.  Ofcourse, the beach is on one side and our new very flash pool on the other.  Restaurants just adjacent as well.  Hows that for some advertising.

We are all home now, kids & Grandad are outside with very elaborate water pistels. Kaylene and Aidan are cooking dinner tonight which we will eat outside on the terrace.
