to Visit Crammag

It took the best part of a three mile walk to get to this old tholtan called Crammag or "Little Hill" in Manx.

I have to say that it seemed not at all like a walk up a little hill.  Since this farm was last occupied by the Cowley Family, the Sulby Reservoir has been built. This submerged the roadway that gave access to the place.

Nowadays  in order to gain access one has to walk up a very steep hillside overlooking the reservoir.

The farm is now so remote that much of the old machinery is still visible and has not been moved.  This includes the horse mill in the foreground and the weighing scale in the background.
