Hugs on the 18th

I've been trying to watch a good friend play golf for the county (Staffordshire) for a few years, but things conspired against me until today. It was a pleasure to watch the ladies of the Midland North Region play in their annual golf week.

In the end I stayed and watched all of the matches end, many of them on the 18th, which gave a true indication how close the games were.  The Staffordshire team drew with Derbyshire, but it could easily have gone one way or another, coming down to a missed putt here and a holed putt there.  The Staffordshire players, resplendent in their yellow tops were a true team, all waiting around the 18th to cheer in the last single match.
