Jedburgh Abbey
Last day of our holiday and I got up early and went for a walk before breakfast, the final packing and the tidying up. We were out in good time (which is not like us!) and we headed to Bellingham, as TT had a desire to visit Hareshaw Linn. It was a lovely day and we have never met so many people walking to Hareshaw Linn – a constant stream all the way up and down. Once back in the village, we had a wander and ensconced ourselves in a tea room for some lunch then had another wander before taking a scenic route home via Kielder, a route we haven’t taken for years. We didn’t stop – just kept going until we got to Jedburgh. We stopped to stretch our legs and paid a visit to the Abbey – something else we have never done, in all the years we have driven through en route to the in laws.
A friendly guide gave us a few useful facts before we explored the massive structure. After a wander around the town, we headed home. The end of a lovely week away.
Here is a view of Jedburgh Abbey.
