The team depart mid-afternoon leaving me, Aslak & Ryan as interlopers. Early evening we head into town - with a recommendation to eat at 1802. It’s busy until after 9, so we sit out, comfortably warm, sipping a very pleasant Pinot Noir.

The food, when we get it, is excellent. I opt for une assiette vegetarien - which was a triumph of flavours and textures. And with a plate of cheese to finish, I was proper happy.

We get back to the hotel late, to discover that our colleagues have been delayed for several hours at BSL and are now destined to spend an unwanted night in London. A timely reminder of the perils of travel.
