A very exciting day
In addition to people working in the house today we had some wonderful visitors.
We knew that the other Marjorie was coming this afternoon, but we did not know that Annette would be here at lunchtime with Isaac. See extra. He is four weeks old and is doing very well indeed. Of course we oohd and aahd over him and enjoyed the cuddles.
I had a phone call at lunchtime from Josie and David to say they were passing near us on their way home from Otterburn and could they call. David is the son of Mum's best friend, Joan. They knew each other from the age of 3 until Joan died a few years ago.
Josie is a wedding celebrant and had been officiating at a wedding in Otterburn. They brought an wonderful arrangement of flowers from the wedding for Mum.
Josie's phone pinged with a message. It was to say that their first grandchild had been born, a baby boy to son Christopher and his wife Catherine. What a wonderful time to share with them. If you look closely you might make out a baby!!
Tonight I was in Haltwhistle for a meal with Anne and Jill who are completing the Pennine Way. We had a lovely evening. The food was good but the service was exceptionally slow.
In other news, joiners came to refashion the wardrobe in Mum's bedroom. They did not put covers everywhere as promised but the job looks OK. Tomorrow the painter comes, thankfully a different one, to do some more finishing off.
Tomorrow all the final snagging jobs in the kitchen should be sorted, BUT I've had a text to say that the glass surround is not ready. Can they do it next Tuesday? Well no, because the decorator is booked to paint the kitchen on Monday and Tuesday.
You couldn't make it up could you?
