Scrawny Old Man

Cut out

One of several nativity sets around the house, this one is cut out from a slice of tree.
Nothing to do with the picture but gotta tell you about parkrun this morning to let you know what hardy souls nutcases we are in Dundee, and how the weather has decided not to be nice to us parkrunners any more.
'It never rains on parkrun' - not in Camperdown anyway - not till today anyway. We arrived with time to warm up before the run - just as the rain started and it then pissed poured down on us until about the time the last runner finished. Then it stopped and we had quite a bright day.
It was also windy, cold, and fun - for the runners anyway, I'm just glad we were running and not standing around as volunteers.
And the course was changed because some of it was flooded - a detour through the playpark made it a bit longer than the statutory 5k but at least the running surface was good (if a tad puddly) on that section. The rest was very wet and muddy. Great fun.
Anyway I equalled my official-but-not-real pb (don't ask) and experienced a lot of fun and a fair bit of pain. Finished 7th behind 3 boys, 1 girl and 2 men - but 1st over-50.
More fun than the tidying up (which has had no visible effect) this afternoon.
Hoping for better weather on new year's day when Mrs RT and I are both marshalling.
