Poaching photos in near Tucson
I woke up this morning to my son on the corner of my bed suggesting a trip to Arizona to Pichacho Peak to look at poppies. I said sure imagining that we would end up somewhere south of the Q doing something, but we got on the road by 10 and by 6 we were watching the sunset on Picacho Peak. This is Tucson Jim land and we saw both poppies and saguaros along with a stunning sunset, perfect in every way.
This is a picture of my son climbing the peak. It was by far my favorite of the day, even though it replaces the original picture I had up which was scenery. This is Geoff in false color IR. The shirt he is wearing is actually black.
All in all an amazing day. Tomorrow, it is up early to hit Picacho Peak again and maybe Casa Grande and then heading home. The pup is with us and agrees on the awesomeness of the day. We are both sort of stunned we did this as an impulse trip.
Today, I am grateful for the day I was given, my son, the dog, audacious ideas and the Volvo.
