Arinagour

Luckily the next day we made it - the journey was *interesting* (I have a couple of scary photos from the (indoors) observation deck of waves crashing over the boat) but the swell at the pier was much receded so we were able to land. Our cottage was very snug (it can be found here, I'd definitely recommend it) and we had a lovely warm welcome. Once we'd brought all our stuff indoors we had a wander round the village (Arinagour is the only village on the island, and about half of the c200 residents live there) to get our bearings. This is just outside the church on the hill, looking back down over the village.

On the horizon on the far left you can see a bit of another island - it's one of the Treshnish Isles, but we never did work out which one. Possibly Lunga or Fladda (the Treshnish Isles are uninhabited islands just off the coast of Mull, which is also visible from Coll).
