Filling up?

When you think of it many filling stations these days double also as local convenience stores, so that you can as easily pop in for a pint of milk as you do to fill your petrol tank.

This one near us still has a welcome “we serve you” policy for the petrol in your car . . . And is more geared to keeping the home fires burning come autumn rather than convenience foods, with a stack of timber which it chops up and sells as logs, as well as bags of coal. Oh and for this time of year you can buy charcoal to keep the barbecue fired up.
