Space to breathe
Meandering at any time along the many tracks of the New Forest provides both exercise and the ability to drink in the many delights of the national park. But there is something especially magical as evening shadows lengthen.
Bear in mind that despite its name, the New Forest comprises much more than trees; and wide open spaces where ponies and cattle graze at will, provide the ability to roam. It’s heaven for dog walkers or horse riders, or simply for those, like me, who find walking the tracks across the open spaces, relaxing.
The Forest covering 200 square miles is one of the largest areas of natural expanses of wild life land in the country, and living so close it’s comforting to know that we’ve a priceless amenity on the doorstep.
Although it is called the 'New' Forest, it is in fact anything but new! The records reveal It got its name around 1079 in William the Conqueror's time, but historians believe the Forest's history stretches back further; to Saxon times.
