The Sage

A day in Newcastle taking part in a medical research programme. Five hours of questions, tests, scans, samples etc.

Arrived at the station and walked to the centre. For years I’ve passed through Newcastle on the train and not stopped. So had a chance, on a lovely day, to see some of the sights. No time to go in but saw the old city walls. The Newcastle castle. The Black gate. The modernised Quayside with its views of the bridges and the Sage and other centres on the south bank.

I had an hour or so before my evening train back. Any hope of a quiet meal and drink was dashed by the hoards of people out for a good time. It was a Friday night in the party city - and the sun was shining. Still had a good (noisy) meal then back home for 9:30.
