A day of summer bliss...
In the garden.
With the weather forecast I was determined to make the most of our brief summer by spending a day in the garden. Hard not to set about the weeds, which I did a little, but in the main I had a relaxing day.
I had thought of reading but decided to get out my sewing which I have barely touched since Scotland. Shade provided by the trees in the morning (almost, did get caught a bit at the back of the neck) and then from the parasol in the afternoon over our corner patio.
This is the last of the poppies to flower and it is a much stronger red than the others. I liked this heavily laden bee about to land. The pinky purple ones were just as attractive to the bees. Peaceful after the spate of lawn mowing in the morning, the only sound was that of the cheers from the cricket field. Hope it was for Harden.
I sat in my shady corner and enjoyed it together with the buzz of the bees and the colour along the length of the garden border.
We should have more days like this!
