Jules

This is the Stacey West drummer Mr Julian Burley. He's been bashing the skins in the SW for a few years now, and has recently resisted a move to the side on 'Sincil Bank' side of the ground. A majority of the recent SW faithfull have transferred to the top of the Coop Stand to be closer to the away fans and to get a better view. However Jules has remained on the end that I've called home for nigh on 26 years now and therefore I feel compelled to blip him to reward loyalty.

Mind you it is nicer not to be surrounded by some of the 'Holdsworth Out' crew around me. I get sick of people criticising the team. I'm a fan and that's in despite of me knowing the side aren't that good. People think that because Gateshead aren't a 'league' team that we should be beating them: the fact is we're not entitled to win anything. The Heed (as they're known) were well organised and knocked the ball about well. In terms of quality I saw no difference between them and Walsall from league one.

I don't suppose anyone read that, and if you did and you're not already clicking away it means you're a football fan.

The away support today number about 54, but I took the time to applaud them. Anyone travelling two hours in this weather to watch non league football deserves applause irrespective of who they support. The result was 1-1.
