Drying time

No need for my hostess trolley today as I left these drying outside. The only problem was the breeze. I am going to a course in the Netherlands next weekend, and have to take a finished base with me. As the material we will be using is a straw, I thought I should have a straw bottom. I haven’t worked with straw much, and my conclusion from today is that is shapes nicely, but unravels quickly. Unfortunately the bright pink one has been consigned to hat heaven as just frayed too much. Seeing as it was an old sunhat I had recycled, it isn’t too much wastage.
I’ve now finished three bases and getting far more used to working with it.
