Orchid in our meadow

We planted 5 orchids (Dactylorhiza fuchsii) last autumn.  This year, three have emerged and two (in this photo) have produced flowers.  We have been very careful to protect them.  It would be nice if they like the meadow well enough to set seed and spread, but we will wait and see.

We were pleased to offer ThingsBeautiful some lunch, and an opportunity to obtain a blip in our garden today - though I believe you will need to wait till at least tomorrow to see it, as she will not be home before then.

After a rather hectic few days (socially) I look forward to a more relaxed day tomorrow, and an opportunity to do a little housekeeping - sorting out some of the stuff behind my desk and also perhaps some of my sewing paraphernalia.
