Overnight rain ?

This morning started bright, all of ten minuets of it, then it returned to strong winds and hailstones. There were no signs of life over the moors except for us (not spring) chickens then I remembered coming across a large group of ponies in a hollow a few days ago and on checking they were there again. There must have been at least 20 all huddled together in it would appear they are using it for an overnight shelter and perhaps warmth from each other. What ever, they all looked wet and dejected.
