Giraffe Delight .... and a Termite Mound
Day 17 South African Diaries
Back blipped yesterday’s Milky Way just now too if you are interested in night photography.
This shows giraffes in the area on the way out of Balule where we “Glamped” last night, cross a railway line to get from one area of the bush to another in the outskirts of the Kruger National Park. We also saw baboons on the lines .... a different kind of danger to wildlife.
Both last night and this morning at dawn, we were delayed on our drives by elephants close to the camp at Balule. One young male this morning was definitely not going to let us pass without his dominance being asserted! See extra.
However, today’s rare sighting was a family of dwarf mongoose (in extra) playing around their dens. They are about the size of an adolescent domestic cat.
