A ripening Crop

As ever it is the barley that is first to turn colour in the ripening fields near home.  I had to clamber through the overgrown footpath to reach this point, but it was definitely worthwhile to spend some minutes in the areas largest field with this big sky beyond.

Despite it not being countryside etiquette I decided to use the tractor wheel furrows on the way back and probably did less damage to the crops as a result.
