Grottaglie
We got up and out early to try to avoid the excesses of the heat. We went to Grottaglie which is known for its ceramics. It was as interesting to see the old caves and kilns as it was to see the work.
We then stumbled into the old town and found many delights - in extras. We ended up at a sweet little bar with a leafy courtyard for espresso and ice
The afternoon was spent back at the trullo. My bad knee is now considerably larger than my other knee so swimming seemed ill-advised but there are many other ways to pass the time. In the evening we went back to our favourite place in Ceglie and smiled as the sun went down. Thank you Tim and thank you Universe.
PS I forgot to mention the meter long snake that wanted to join us for breakfast but then thought better of it.
