Fake Plastic Keeps

This magnificent polystyrene edifice is The Castle of Dreams. Festooned in glittering acrylic and standing proud over an acre of vaseline-coated plastic that is The Ice Kingdom - scene of my eldest's birthday treat.

We took a trip to the mall this morning to check it out in preparation for next week's visit and ever the bright-side seeker my daughter assumed that the bone-biting icy wind and needle-like rain were all part of the package and therefore not horribly uncomfortable. She's brilliant.
