Magnet Fishing

This is a relatively new pursuit, in fact this year is the first time I've come across it. I first encountered it at Parndon Mill and the two boys there pulled a child's scooter out of the lock. Further along the Stort Navigation on another occasion a man and his whole family were fishing from a bridge and landed a outboard motor, amongst other junk. Today this young man was trying his luck at Hooks Marsh. He was brilliant at throwing the magnet. Luckily the bridge bars are close or excited Ollie would have launched. I've read that this is a cross between environmentalism and treasure hunting.
