Scenic Route
Oscar was a star at training this morning! So he now has the next stage to learn before next week working towards stopping and dropping on command! I also found out that tennis balls are a choking hazard for dogs."The problem is that dogs have strong jaws capable of compressing a tennis ball. If that compressed ball pops open in the back of the throat, it can cut off a dog's air supply." Googling it once home I also discovered that if they chew them the fuzzy covering will erode their enamel, and bits swallowed will mean expensive surgery. The dog trainer advised getting larger tennis balls or a kong which has a hole so that if they get lodged in the throat there is an air hole.
This meant a trip into Launceston to get new balls! Unfortunatly I took a wrong turning and ended up in a long queue due to road works, I wasn't feeling so good and couldn't face turning round to go through them once more, so decided to head home. However my car and phone decided not to communicate any more so I had to balance the phone on my dashboard for the route home - needless to say I got lost but did see some amazing scenery! When I came to a T junction I discovered that I was only 6 miles from Launceston so decided to try again! So I got new balls and some treats from M&S for myself - I think I deserved them after my week of antibiotics, persisiting with getting to launceston and training Oscar so well!
