Backyard Beach

On the last leg of our drive home, we stopped for a short visit with my sister in Newport. She lives two blocks and a stairway down to the beach, making walks so easy. That's my hubby, brother-in-law, and nephew in the picture, along with Skully the dog.
I've been reading such a great novel by Sigrid Nunez, The Friend, about her and a dog she inherits from a close friend who died. Very thoughtful, touching, and tender.
