Well Spent Morning
In November I attended the ceremony of the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust signing up to the Armed Forces Covenant and since then the hospital staff have made steady progress in its implementation.
Today we had a progress/catch up meeting, the few attendees allowed it to become more focussed and some really good points came up.
Some of those attending are surgeons of differing specialities and along with some volunteer nursing staff from RCHT are proposing to hold ‘Veterans Clinics’ in their own time providing they can access funding.
I also learnt that what I had long suspected to be an ‘Urban Myth’, the 13jy code that Veterans can ask to have written onto their medical records, is in fact a truth, it allows Veterans access to specialised treatment.
All in all a really worthwhile morning.
