Triggers Broom
There is a popular clip from ‘Only Fools & Horses’ where Trigger is explaining that he has had the same broom for years and despite having several new handles and new heads it’s still the same broom.
And so it is with our washing machine, having been trouble free for years we have had four engineers visits. Those that follow my Blip will recall the last visit where a surly miserable guy who obviously still wanted to be furloughed spent six minutes here, did nothing and left. Turns out he reported that we needed a new drum, as they do not carry one on their van I suspect the reason for that report was that he simply didn’t want to fix it.
Today’s engineer fitted a new drum and promptly ‘blew’ the master board, he fitted a new motor, replaced the master board and said; “while I’m here might as well replace the pump then it’s all new”. Hence Triggers Broom, today’s Engineer was not best pleased with his colleague and I suspect might have something to say to him.
Completely different scenario with the Sky Engineer in the afternoon, we have multi-room and it was upstairs that wasn’t working. He arrived, checked the box and replaced it because of its age, checked and replaced the connection on the dish, checked and replaced the connection on the box, all working and he was gone in under forty-five minutes.
Today’s photograph is of the old drum, hard to get hold of normally as they make excellent portable camping fire pits. Just need to sort it out and make a base.
