Christmas at Carrick Knowe
I led worship at Carrick Knowe parish church in Edinburgh this morning. The church's pews came from the Great Exhibition, and it is painted red, white and blue as it was built in the year of the coronation.
As an end of year service, we thought about the "visitors from the east", they had an encounter with Christ, and returned "by another route". We spent a little time reflecting on how we have travelled in 2012, and how we may go on to travel in 2013.
A welcoming congregation, but they didn't tell me that I was the first to use the new radio mic until the end of the service!
