Scotland’s most exotic garden did not disappoint.
These giant tree ferns, natives of Australia, were among the 2,500 trees and plants we saw today in Logan gardens on the Galloway peninsula the most southerly point in Scotland.
It benefits from the Gulf Stream and allows this outpost of the Edinburgh Royal Botanical Gardens to have rare and exotic plants from all over the world.
It employs seven full time gardeners, numerous interns and volunteers from many countries helping to create and sustain this gem of the gardening world.
The only downside is that it is such a long trek to reach it from central Scotland.
