Driving up to Wetherby Saturday and all of a sudden I lost some power and that light bottom right came on. The manual said ‘engine malfunction’. Very helpful. Anyway I’m told my engine switched to ‘limp’ mode and I got to Wetherby OK. Whilst there I needed to access the car park at Piccolino in Collingham but needed to stop and restart to handle the incline in first gear. I succeeded but left a deposit of carbon on the floor. That seemed to do the trick and the car handled OK on the return journey and my bill at Buckingham & Stanley was three figures but only began with a 1.
