Fenland flowers
I drove out to Chatteris to do a quick Aldi shop with Anya only to find on the way back that the only road back to ours was closed because of an accident. So a journey that normally takes less than ten minutes ended up taking us nearly an hour! We drove through the fens over single track roads and through deserted farm land. Both Anya and I did note that the wild flowers were beautiful though and we were lucky not to be the ones involved in the accident.
Just before going to bed I heard that somebody I had only recently got to know had lost her battle with cancer. She leaves behind a gorgeous little boy, who’s in Anya’s class. She was such a positive person with the biggest smile and an infectious energy (see extra)
I was so saddened by the news that I couldn’t sleep and it was the early hours of the morning before I did drift off.
A reminder of how cruel life can be and how we really must be thankful every day for all we have.
