Burnished

While tidying up the garden, I came across this macro-moth. Its scales give it a highly reflective metallic sheen which initially reflected the leaf above, giving it a green appearance.

Carefully picking its support leaf and moving it into the open allowed it to be seen in all its golden glory.
The main blip is the head shot.
1st extra is from above while it was vibrating its wings in preparation for take-off.
2nd extra is the side view at rest.

The moth is a burnished brass, Diachrysia chrysitis.
It is found throughout the UK.
