Southwold

We drove up the coast to Southwold this morning.  After parking up at the pier where we trod the boards and had a cuppa in the Clock Cafe, we went to the harbour and caught the ferry, a one woman rowing boat holding about ten people, to Walberswick on the other side of the river Blyth.  A pretty little hamlet with a few wooden shops, cafes and a pub, the Bell Inn, where we stopped for lunch and a pint, Adnams of course.

The weather was cool and cloudy so we didn't linger after lunch.

Back in Southwold we found an interesting place for afternoon coffee, then walked back towards the car.  We passed St Edmund King & Martyr Church and I popped in for a look around, and take one or two pics of course.

We were parked fairly close to the Adnams' brewery, a huge complex, with the scent of beer in the air, very nice!

The extra is a telescope at the end of the pier, we were tickled by its accompanying notice.

As an aside, we noticed in an estate agent's window that one of these colourful beach huts was for sale, a snip at £75,950 !!
