2019 Tuesday — Rescue Me
No don’t! Don’t rescue me. I want to stay right here in Cayucos. I am enjoying every moment; well okay, almost every moment (fixing dinner, cleaning house, not so much).
This week because I have a “Hot Spot” from the local Library, I’m working like crazy, okay—sort of like crazy—on my materials for this coming semester. I will be teaching 3 sections (3 classes) of Freshman Composition; I haven’t taught this course in over 20 years.
For years (obviously) I have been teaching Basic Composition, not Freshman Comp. I love teaching Basic. BUT Somebody in Sacramento decided (and then made a law) that the State of California will no longer pay for community college students to take Basic Writing. Every student now, ready or not, gets shoved into Freshman Comp.
So I’m spending my summer fretting about being ready to teach the last week of August. So when the 3 pups and Mr. Fun pull the plug on my computer and kidnap me to the shoreline, I don’t want anyone to rescue me.
So when I saw the lifeguard’s surfboard, I took a picture, and now I’m writing this dumb narrative.
I love blipping! The story I blipped 3 years ago today came back to me today in my FaceBook account. I’ve captured so much life just doing 1 Blip at a time. Like a 1-a-Day Vitamin, it’s good for me.
Good night from
California’s Central Coast
In Cayucos,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
