Port Ellen in the rain
After a 5am start (I didn’t even know they existed!) we set off on the ten-hour sail to Islay, firstly hugging the coast of County Antrim where we could just about see some of the glens through the mist.
As we sailed on the visibility deteriorated further and we sailed past the Mull of Kintyre without seeing it! We were a mile out of Port Ellen and couldn’t see it through the mist either. Thankfully we got a good lift with the north-running tide and got in an hour-and-a-half ahead of schedule. This is our view at the moment; still wet but glad to be here!
