1638 in the yard at the end of today’s service
Another turn on the railway. Back at Wittersham Road signalbox for a day with a new trainee who has only just started his training this year. Only his second ever turn in the box. A very enjoyable day, closely supervising the trainee as he tried to make sense of a deluge of information. He was very good, all things considered and should do well.
My favourite loco was back on duty following a rapid overhaul. Here it is being disposed at the end of the days service. It takes the few a good 90 minutes to dispose the engine. It’ll probably be in steam again tomorrow so will not go completely cold overnight.
A rapid turnaround this evening with a quick tea before going of for a finger end shredding couple of hours at the Marmite Ukulele Club of Kent where for part of the evening we ruined many a good Beatles song. They did use some interesting chords and chord combinations!
