Stripes

We went for a nice walk along the bluffs at Wilder Ranch north of town. The beautiful sunny day was a gift for Mr S's birthday! Having just painted fog and the ocean yesterday, my eyes were on the white line on the horizon, and my mind was occupied with trying to imagine how to paint it in a believable way. 

It ended up quite hot in the afternoon: too hot to sit on the patio! not something that happens very often. By happy hour things had cooled off enough so we could enjoy our snacks outside and watch the bugs come and go. The cat has decided that one of the great things about being finally let outdoors is that he can now be no more than three feet away from me at any given moment. 

Tomorrow we will go out to dinner and extend the birthday celebration for as long as we can.
