Now, as I see it......

Carry on up the Kateraktis

We found it! After missing it a few days ago, today we found the top of the Kateraktis, but only after asking directions from an elderly local man. It turned out we'd only just missed the turning. But before that we visited the local museum up in the old town and had another wander round the narrow lanes. These two goats welcomed us onto the Kateraktis, and we walked down the steep and rocky slope to the harbour. In the winter when the rains come the channel next to the path becomes a raging torrent of water but for the rest of the year it is completely dry.

Two extras: while we were having a well earned drink and a spot of lunch I liked the way the boats in the harbour were lined up from small to large. And for some reason the flags were being put out in town; not sure if they are expecting an important visitor. We suspect the tax inspectors are currently on the island as all the shops, bars and restaurants are suddenly providing receipts, but I don't think the flags are for them.
