Return To Perfidious Albion

After a wonderful week in Belgium and the Netherlands, MrsDroog and I had to return to the UK. After a fairly traumatic drive, we crossed the Channel to Dover and decided to stay the night.

I was struck by the sight of the harbour entrance, which suggests to me the general British view of Europe with its riches of history, culture and civilisation. The mainland is just 22 miles away at its closest point, but for many Britons it is something to be kept at bay behind walls of ignorance and prejudice.
