Chic!

We had a surprise today on our flight from Bristol to Girona, Spain at a very early hour. This is Nile Rogers of Le Chic (Le Freak C’est Chic) who knew, not me!
He and his entourage took up the first four rows of our plane with a spare seat between them in each row. We were on row five. Lots of people were asking for photos so, after landing and going to baggage claim, Grace plucked up courage to ask for a photo and chat to him. The group are performing in Spain tonight and the Netherlands tomorrow. He also said they were performing in a castle that had been the last refuge of the Romanovs from the Bolsheviks but I don’t know where that is!
A great start to our holiday.
We looked up where he was performing tonight and it is right here in Callella de la Palafrugell where we have an apartment for a week. His name is on the banners of performers at the festival of music at the Botanic gardens at Cap Roig nearby. We may even hear it! Sting is here next Friday!

We couldn’t get our key till later this afternoon so we headed into the Old town and Jewish quarter of Girona. We have been here before and it is really worth a visit. We found an nice shady place for lunch whilst there too.

We are now enjoying a drink on the balcony whilst Grace, John and Eda enjoy a swim in the pool in the late afternoon sun.
The view from here over the town and the beautiful north Catalan coast, the often maligned Costa Brava, is lovely as is the three bedroomed appt. We have been here before several times and it was Grace who particularly wanted to return.

It’s hot but we can cope!
