Stone Town

My Darling wife booked a photographer trip to Stone Town and world Heritage site ......well what can I say and assault on all your senses and I eye opener , as for the photographer tour we were meet by Ali and his friend Mohammed , probably in there late twenties . Ali was the pro photographer who was going to take us to the top spots in town and show us the ropes while Mohammed was the guide to tell us about Stone Town and its history ( If wanted to know the history I would of read up on it and could ) Alarm bells rang with me when five minutes of meeting they take 20 yards to a Museum about the slave trade and Ali telling me to take phots of  the displays / pictures and captions of what happened in the past. In my mind I am thinking this is not exactly what I want to take photos of . After about 15 min we move on to a church approx 20 yards from where we started , he the started telling me to use my flash cause I would not get and proper exposed image ....he flashes away and shows me out of focus blue image as he’s not altered hid WB . So I promptly drop my ISO open the aperture and as I had my camera on a mon pole I dropped the shutter and clicked get a sharp in focus properly exposed image . Fortunately as my darling wife was with me and she had my spare camera he turned his attention to her and left me alone the rest of the tour . The only positives was they would ask people if we could take photos of them . While Carol would take the shot of the person smiling I was able  to take candied photos beyond the subject .
Above image is Stone Town Fish Market as a former EHO if this was on my patch it would of been condemned years ago .
The Second photo is of my darling wife who hates fish and will run pass the fish counter in Tesco but she stuck it out along side her is Flash Ali as I called him as the rest of the day he used flash in every situation (I dint think he new how to turn it off) .
At the end of the tour they said we would go to a hotel to watch the sun set and have a drink ........No sun set and we had to buy the drinks . We still have to write a review .....I think it may be very blunt and short.
