A Walk in the Park

L's birthday and we went for a short walk in the park before lunch and the inevitable visitors that dropped in later in the day.  

The title is a little tongue in cheek, when you consider the sporting events of the afternoon.  The tennis took priority, but the cricket was on the iPad.  It looked at one moment as though both events would reach their climax at the same time.  In the end the events at Lord's took a lo longer to conclude and were hard to comprehend. 

I know there are many New Zealanders on Blipfoto.  Your team were magnificent and it was only afterwards that I realised that the reason you had to score one more run came down to you scoring fewer boundaries in the main innings!  There were so many talking points, the game could have gone either way, what transpired was true drama, but with anything elevated to that level the despair for the losers was amplified.  On such small margins are games won and lost.
