Wine Route

Saturday in Obernai.  Toytown brightly coloured toytown timber framed houses with geraniums everywhere. They are setting up for the evening festivities in the square and sound testing. The Rolling Stones don’t need to worry about the competition. We walked a circuit of the town around the old ramparts and in the afternoon I hired a bike for a ride through the wine route villages. Hills with views right across the Rhine valley to the Black Forest. 
 
And dinner in town sitting on a restaurant terrace watching the locals streaming in to the centre for the evening show. Bastille Day tomorrow and a French rider is in the TdF yellow jersey. It was wonderful to see people enjoying themselves in harmony.  Although one wouldn’t have applied the word harmony to the band.
