Summer Shadows

Dear Diary,

I have to get Matt or John to trim the bush outside my breakfast room windows but right now the leaves do create lovely patterns on my curtain.  Since I was talking about souvenirs yesterday, the little cat in the bottom right is "William" from Rosslyn Chapel, a souvenir from last September's trip to Scotland.  I booked my flight yesterday for Washington, DC in October.  I am flying down to visit a friend in Maryland and she has a great itinerary for me.  I am especially looking forward to seeing the new Museum of African-American History and Culture in DC and we'll visit Baltimore so I can see the Edgar Alan Poe house and grave.  Hopefully, by October, it won't be triple digit heat!
