Stranger things

OLAFUR ELIASSON: IN REAL LIFE at the Tate Modern. Wonderful experience. He uses man made objects such as kaleidoscopes, projectors, water and lighting to bridge the natural and the created world. This is a water fountain in a totally darkened room lit periodically and unpredictably by a strobe light; the young man is captivated by a phenomenon that lasts only for a fraction of a second. It is like an encounter with an alien life form.

Had a wonderful day in London, the first half with TSM and the second half with Strider. It involved some excellent and relaxed food, a walk all the way from Waterloo to Tower Bridge and back, with diversions (couldn’t have done that a week ago), a hidden gem of a pub behind the railway arches at Bermondsey, fist bumps with a street runner, shopping in the National Theatre shop where I bought The Empire Strikes Back written in the style of Shakespeare ("Sir! Sir! I have isolated the reverse flux power coupling! Have I done thee proud?") and as much brutalist and modest architecture as you could shake a stick at. There was also a tree with angel’s wings, an iron horse and a vegan apple turnover. Oh and reindeer moss. See a few more pics here

Great day. Could have written a book about it ... but I must now to bed ...

Oh I nearly forgot. I also got a phone call from the Vegan Society. Apparently a South Korean tv station wants to interview us about veganism in later life. Seriously. Watch this space.
