Boules ...

… or bocce (in Italy), or pétanque (another French name) near our hotel in  La Chapelle-en-Vercors, in the late afternoon.   We had stayed behind our tour mates,  to have lunch with friends from Paris, who have a vacation retreat not far to our north in the Vercors. During the meal the husband fell ill, and had to be taken by ambulance to a hospital in Grenoble (ca 25 miles to the northeast). By this evening we have heard nothing further regarding his condition--I'll report further tomorrow.  The extra is a Titania's Fritillery butterfly (one of what seems like a zillion fritilleries (taken yesterday--I posted that blip earlier today).
