Afternoon tea, jazz and Glenn
I had a really bad night's unsleep. As usual I finally slept around 6 so no swim. Just as well as upholstery man #2 arrived just after 9.
The rest of the day went really well. The sun was shining and it felt like summer. We got to Port Edgar early (I'd transmuted the 1.15 in my head too 12.45) but it meant we got to enjoy the great view of the 3 bridges.
The cruise was lovely, not busy and with scones, jam, cream and tea. We went up to Blackness with a good view of the Prince of Wales carrier before going under all 3 bridges.
Then back to town, via a Sainsbury's. Amazingly easily parked in Buccleuch At then to b the Jazz Garden for a drink before ascending to the 3rd floor for the Glenn Miller concert. Great foot stomping music and audience participation, including a rendition of 'Chattanooga Choo Choo'. Mum saw and heard Glenn Miller and his orchestra play it when she was in the WRNS in Lowestoft. She won a draw to get a ticket to hear him.play at the local US base. We reckoned the average age of the audience was 75 but I bet she was the only person in the room who'd heard Glenn Miller in person.
We ended the evening with food and drink at 56 North. No gin for us (it's a gin bar), bit we were still able to sit outside. Mum has really got the sun.
Good day.
